Extended Day for Threes, Young Fours, Fours, and Fives

( Monday/Tuesday/Friday or Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday or Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday or Thursday or )

Must turn 4 on or before March 1

Sessions

11:30AM - 2:00PM (for AM students only)

This optional extension to the class day is offered to our Threes, Young Fours, Fours, and Fives students on the days they attend their regular class. In this class the students will eat lunch, listen to books read aloud, participate in simple centers like lacing, sorting, pattern making, and counting, further their social skills by playing with other students, and learn how to apply age appropriate biblical truths into their daily lives. Concepts of sharing, friendliness, listening, and trying your best will all be reinforced in a fun and loving and engaging environment.

Daily Schedule

Lunch (30 minutes) – Parents send a balanced lunch to school with their children to eat at the beginning of class.

Reading (15 minutes) – The story of the day will be read aloud to the class in a fun and
engaging way.

Coloring and Centers (30 minutes)- Simple coloring sheets, activity sheets, and educational manipulatives or science experiments will be available, as well as free play in the classroom.

Craft (30 minutes) – The whole class, together, will create a craft that represents the theme or character from the book of the day.

Playground (20 minutes) – All students will play outside, weather permitting, on the school’s fenced-in playground.

Bible (25 minutes) – A Bible passage will be read aloud to the class that reinforces the “moral” of the daily book, and the class will discuss how they can apply the teachings in an age appropriate manner.
